Tiger Tale Journal -- Cat Thoughts on Life, Religion and Politics

The greater part of what my neighbors call good, I believe in my soul to be bad, and if I repent of anything, it is very likely to be my good behavior. What demon possessed me that I behaved so well? --Henry Thoreau

Papal Apology is False. Pope Benedict Should Make a True Apology to Muslims

The pope has made a false apology.

Apologizing for the angry reaction to inflammatory remarks is to place blame on those who reacted with anger.

The anger was justified.

The pope CHOSE to quote inflammatory and insulting remarks from the 14th Century.

He sinned.

He emulated his hero (the false apostle, Paul) in using a quote to shield himself.

Paul, in one of his letters, said that all Cretans are liars and gluttons. He was using a quote, but it expressed the point he was obviously trying to make.

I wonder if he ever apologized to the people of Crete?

I don't know.....it seems I have nothing to say.

Or, at least, what I say makes no difference.

I question the efficacy of blogging.
